The most important thing to keep in mind when decluttering anything is that it’s not a one-time deal. It’s just one step on the road to becoming more intentional with the items you acquire and keep. That being said, implementing these suggestions might make organizing your closets a bit quicker.
Try a 30-minute closet clean out
Set the timer for 30 minutes and get started without thinking about whether it will be finished today.
- Straighten things up, like random hangers and stuff that has been tossed around in the closet.
- Vacuum dust and dirt from the floor or other surfaces.
- Remove anything that isn’t critical. Take a look at what you have and place anything you’re not sure about in the outbox. Make a goal of collecting five items. Continue adding things until your alarm goes off at 30 minutes!
- Take a few minutes to consider what else must occur for the closet to be in perfect condition and how much time it would take you to complete it again on another day if you believe the closet is still unorganized when the time limit has passed.
Something is better than nothing, and if you only managed to accomplish a little bit in 30 minutes, that’s wonderful! You may restart organizing it the next day and keep working until it’s in the condition you desire.
